Last month I announced being commissioned to paint Cleveland Smith, a man diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease, in a manner where he is 100% recovered.

After going back and forth, the sketch phase of the painting has been completed. Click on the images to see.

This is the latest news about how Cleveland is doing, in his daughters’ own words:

We’ve been doing some research and found out the ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) is a virus that lives in the spine.  Well, with that being the case, we now understand why dad would always run a low grade fever.  Once we found that out, we found some natural remedies to kill the virus!

We used L-Threonine and L-Lysine.  We gave our dad 1000mg’s of each once every hour for 48 hours straight!
We killed the virus in his spine and he said he could feel it!  He went through a serious detoxing process.  It’s been weeks since he’s had a fever and he doesn’t get anymore infections because the L-Lysine and L-Threonine give your immune system a TREMENDOUS BOOST! 
 
Because he had the virus for awhile it has already killed many of the motor neurons that affect his movement in his arms and legs.  Well, God is good because there’s natural herbs and minerals to help that too!  We’re going to start treatment on him tomorrow and from what we understand, we should see some major improvements in his overall condition in one to three months!  We are very optimistic.  Even though we haven’t received your finished portrait yet, at the rate dad’s going through his healing process, my folks will be in Napa valleyin no time!  Just like in the portrait!
